Vehicle Profiles
Save fuel type, displacement, dashboard layout, power calibration and more as a "profile" and switch between them with one tap. Use it when you drive more than one car or bike — or for the same car, when you want different gauges for the track and for a cruise.
1.Overview
Switching profiles swaps the vehicle settings used for fuel calculations, the dashboard layout and slots, the trip in progress, the power calibration coefficient and more — all at once.
Profiles work for different cars, and also as presets for the same car: fuel economy and speed front and center for daily driving, rpm, boost and G side by side for the mountain road or the track.
You start with one profile named "Default", which holds the settings you already had.
Creating and switching between two or more profiles is a Premium feature (up to 5). On the free plan you have the Default profile, and you can still edit its name, fuel type and displacement.
2.What a profile saves
Each profile keeps its own copy of the following, and they swap when you switch.
| Item | Details / where to set it |
|---|---|
| Fuel type & displacement | Set in the profile edit panel. Used for fuel economy and estimated power |
| Fuel detail settings | Volumetric efficiency, boost enrichment, fuel cut and so on. Changed from the Fuel Metrics slot's detail settings |
| Dashboard | The selected layout, plus the slot setup for each of Standard, Three Column and Twin Meter |
| Trip in progress | Trip fuel economy, distance and fuel used. Switching profiles does not reset it |
| Power calibration | The coefficient from "Calibrate with this drive", and the vehicle info it uses (weight, occupants, cargo, transmission) |
| Vehicle name | Maker, model, model code and year. Used in the Virtual Dyno share image |
| Shift light | The rpm where Twin Meter's rpm gauge starts lighting up and where it flashes |
Not part of a profile
- OBD protocol selection and saved Bluetooth adapters (connection settings are app-wide — many people do not pair one adapter with one car)
- App-wide settings such as theme and the speed chime
- The slot setup on the record detail (playback) screen
3.Switching
Tap Settings › Vehicle Profile to bring up the list of profiles from the bottom of the screen. Tap one to switch to it (the selected profile has a check mark).
With Premium, a profile button appears on the home screen in place of the Premium banner. It shows the current profile name and opens the same list.
You can switch while connected to the OBD adapter. The connection stays up; only fuel calculation settings and the dashboard change.
You cannot switch while recording. Stop the recording first.
4.Add, duplicate, edit, delete
Add a profile
Tap "Add Profile" at the end of the list and enter a name (required, up to 30 characters), fuel type and displacement.
A new profile starts from the defaults, including the dashboard. To start from your current settings, use Duplicate instead.
Duplicate a profile
Copies every setting of the current profile into a new one. The name becomes "Copy of …", which you can change.
The dashboard setup, power calibration (coefficient and vehicle info), vehicle name and shift light are copied too. The trip in progress is not copied and starts from zero.
This is the easy way to make "track" and "cruise" versions of the same car. If you change vehicle info such as weight in the copy, that profile's power calibration is reset.
Edit a profile
Besides name, fuel type and displacement, you can set the vehicle name (maker, model, model code, year), the vehicle info for power calibration (weight, occupants, cargo, transmission) and Twin Meter's shift light.
Edit, Duplicate and Delete apply to the profile currently selected. To edit another profile, switch to it first.
Delete a profile
Deleting the current profile also deletes its dashboard setup, trip in progress, power calibration, vehicle name and shift light. This cannot be undone. You are switched to the Default profile afterwards.
The Default profile cannot be deleted (it can be renamed). You cannot delete while recording.
5.Profiles and drive logs
Drives recorded with v1.3.7 or later remember the profile that was active when recording started. Virtual Dyno, Estimated Power in playback, "Calibrate with this drive" and the Virtual Dyno share image all use that profile's fuel type and coefficient — switching to another car's profile later does not redraw them with the wrong car's numbers.
Profiles cannot be switched mid-recording, so each drive belongs to exactly one profile.
Drives recorded with v1.3.6 or earlier, or whose profile has since been deleted, are calculated with the profile currently selected. In that case the share image shows "--" for the vehicle name.
Displacement and other values used for fuel economy are also saved with each drive, separately from the profile. Changing a profile's displacement later does not change the fuel economy of past drives.
Profiles themselves are not synced to the Desktop app. Drives sent to Desktop include the calibration coefficient of the profile they were recorded with.
6.If you cancel Premium
- If you were on a second or later profile, you are switched back to the Default profile automatically.
- Profiles other than Default show a lock icon in the list. You can open them to view the settings, but not switch to or edit them.
- No profile data is deleted. Resubscribe and every profile is available again, exactly as it was.
- Power calibration falls back to the standard coefficient and shows "Uncorrected" (your calibration data is kept). The Twin Meter layout falls back to Standard (its slot setup is kept).
7.FAQ
Can I use profiles for free?
The free plan has the Default profile only, and you can edit its name, fuel type and displacement. Adding and switching profiles, and setting the vehicle name or the vehicle info for power calibration, are Premium features.
How many profiles can I make?
Up to 5, including Default. Duplicated profiles count toward the limit.
I want to change another profile's settings.
Edit, Duplicate and Delete apply to the profile currently selected. Switch to that profile first, then edit it.
Can each profile have its own OBD protocol?
No. The OBD protocol and Bluetooth adapter stay the same when you switch profiles. Profiles hold the settings you use once connected, so switching never forces a reconnect.
Virtual Dyno for an old drive uses another car's coefficient.
Drives recorded with v1.3.6 or earlier do not know which profile they were recorded with, so they use the profile currently selected. Switch to that car's profile before opening the drive. Drives from v1.3.7 onward use the profile they were recorded with.
